Painting Boats in Watercolour with Grahame Booth | A live webinar series
Drawing and painting boats – it’s not as hard as you think. Boats are a favourite subject for the artist, but many painters struggle with getting them right. They can end up twisted or out of proportion, and sometimes appearing to sit up out of the water. These are all problems that will be addressed in watercolour artist Grahame Booth's series of webinars with Painters Online.
Rowing Boats on the Sand

Date: Thursday 5th October 2023
Time: 11am (BST)
Location: Online live webinar
Tickets: £15.00
In this webinar, you will be focusing on rowing boats on the sand. Rowing boats may be small but they can be fiendishly difficult to get right. By using a logical approach to the subject, you will be able to draw them more accurately and, just as importantly, know where you’ve gone wrong. Water can further complicate things, and so for this webinar, you will focus on a scene where the tide is out.

Time: 11am (GMT)
Location: Online live webinar
Tickets: £15.00
In this online demonstration, you will focus on painting boats on wet sand, as well as considering the importance of shadows. The variation between wet and dry sand creates some beautiful broken reflections, which will enhance any painting of a boat.

Distant Boats

Date: Tuesday 9th January 2024
Time: 11am (GMT)
Location: Online live webinar
Tickets: £15.00
For the final webinar of the series, you will explore painting boats in the distance. If you joined the previous three webinars in this series, this might seem slightly unusual after all of your work, but it is so easy to overemphasise the detail of distant boats, making them look very unnatural. You will see how to keep it natural, as well as how to create dozens of boats in a really simple way.
