Portrait Sketching with Adebanji Alade

Join The Artist contributor and Search Press author, Adebanji Alade in a brand-new workshop at Patchings Art, Craft & Design Festival 2022!

The workshop

In this workshop, you will explore how to capture the essence and character of a face with brown, black and white colours on tanned paper. The focus is on free-hand sketching, structure, proportions, tonal values and edges. Following Adebanji's demonstration, participants will start their own work from reference material, with hands-on help from Adebanji.

You will receive

Each student will receive, courtesy of Daler-Rowney, a Lyra Rembrandt Sketching Set containing 11 pieces; one Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Grey Metal Case containing 12 Polycolor Pencils, a Strathmore 400 Toned Tan A4 Sketch Pad, and a Lyra Kneadable Eraser, worth over £59(rrp).

The Lyra Rembrandt Sketching Set contains an assortment of superior-quality sketching pencils and sticks with 5mm diameter, extra strong lead and exceptional fluency. An excellent balance between dry and oil instruments. Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils are creamy crayons in a pencil form and are formulated with the highest standards of lightfastness.
