Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget Im-peck-able Crochet Cluck-A-Thon!
Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy's farm, Ginger has finally found her dream: a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world; Ginger's happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk this time, they're breaking in.
To celebrate the release of Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget Im-peck-able Crochet from crocheter and author Sarah-Jane Hicks, we thought we'd introduce you to the flock! Our fantastic team of authors and crocheters have taken it in turns to share a character they've created from the book with their followers! The cracking crocheters used the hashtag #ChickenRun23 so you can see everyone's makes on social media.

Sara Scales (@sarascales) & Babs!
Sara Scales is an author, freelance crochet designer, crochet addict and dedicated doll collector. She designs regularly for Simply Crochet magazine, and creates myriad patterns and tutorials for her website and YouTube channel. Her ‘How to’ videos are for all crochet levels and styles, and her crochet designs vary from simple gift ideas to miniatures and doll outfits. Sara is the author of Amigurumi Chocolate Cozies.
Sara has crocheted Babs – The Wool Specialist. We have a soft spot for Babs as she's a brilliant knitter! She's a good hearted but slightly dim hen who has a unique perspective on the world.
Sarah Abbondio (@sarahabbondio) & Ginger!
Sarah Abbondio is a Danish/Swiss designer who has been interested in creating things since she was very little. She trained as a design engineer and has been working as an independent designer and product developer for several Danish brands.
Her interest in crochet started when her daughter was born and she wanted to create a unique toy for her. Sarah taught herself to crochet and it has been her primary hobby ever since.
Sarah has made Ginger! The natural leader of the flock, Ginger was the mastermind behing the chicken's escape from their impending doom on Tweedys' farm in Chicken Run 1. Since their daring escape Ginger has created a peaceful island idyll for her flock and daughter Molly!
Helen Smith (@emkatcrochet) & Bunty!
Helen is the face behind Emkatcrochet. She is passionate about creating, making and designing unique and modern crochet creations! Helen started crocheting in 2016 and she's never looked back. Her colourful patterns are available to purchase from her Etsy and Ravelry stores.
Helen has brough us Bunty – The Muscle! A big hen with a tough exterior but a warm heart underneath it all. Although a bit of a pessimist she'll always do the right thing in the end!
Debbie Wragg (@cornwallcrochet) & Frizzle!
Debbie Wragg is the fabulous crochet designer and maker behind Cornwall Crochet. Debbie creates beautiful crochet patterns inspired by the ocean and Cornwall’s beautiful coastline. Her patterns are available online from her Etsy and Ravelry stores.
Debbie has crocheted Frizzle, a scouse chicken girl, age 13. She's good hearted, optimistic, enthusiastic and... a bit daft. She's been bought up on a small farm but has always dreamed of bigger things so she's left home and hit the road looking for freedom, adventure and fun!

MeganHMakes is a custom, bright, unique and made to measure crochet brand founded by the wonderful Megan Matthews. Megan's makes are bright and vibrant and available to purchase on her Etsy and Depop.
Megan has made Molly - Ginger's daughter, age 11. Curious, adventurous, headstrong and brave – just like her mum - shes a freedom fighting chick off the old block!
