About this author

Based in Lancashire, England, Anne Corless has had a busy and rewarding career working as an Artist, Medical Illustrator/ Multimedia Designer, Creative Educator and Writer…but working in the creative arts only came after a change mid-life, after previously working in the health care industry, where creating art was a passion she followed in her free time, often collaborating with wildlife charities.

Born in Devon, from a young age Anne enjoyed a life of travel with her parents, living in Nigeria, Australia, Kenya and then working in Saudi Arabia and South Africa. Throughout these years of travel, drawing and painting was a constant part of life. Once back in the UK with her Lancastrian husband and with three children and a busy family life, Anne set about training as a natural history and scientific illustrator, medical artist and as an art tutor.

Sharing her knowledge of art materials and techniques and a love of art is an important part of Anne’s creative practice, as she teaches and encourages others on their own creative journeys. Experienced with both traditional and digital media, Anne teaches watercolour painting and creative art skills on cruise ships, collaborating with wildlife charities. She also teaches on art holidays and has delivered art workshops to university students, at conferences and at art events. She has written for art blogs and specialist art magazines.
